Why Tanzania?

Tanzania is home of the wildebeest and Zebra trekking across….followed by their predators; the lion, leopard, cheetah, and hyena.

In the Ngorongoro crater, the largest crater, and one of the 8th wonders of the world, can be seen. In Olduvai Gorge , the remains of one of the earliest humans can be seen. These fossilized remains of Homo habilis were discovered by Dr. Louis Leakey and were calculated to be 1.75 million years old and the fore-runner of the modern man.

Tanzania covers over 937,062 sq. km making it the largest country in East Africa . The land is occupied by various African tribes which enrich the country with their diverse cultures and traditions. Within the country, there are various national parks from the Northern circuit to the Western and Southern circuits, where visitors can explore the country on unforgettable safaris. Housing ranges from lodges to tended camps depending on your available budget.

THE NORTHERN CIRCUIT ARUSHA NATIONAL PARK

Just 32 km away from the town of Arusha , it consists of three attractions: the Momela lakes, Mount Meru , and the Ngurdoto Crater. Vegetation and wildlife varies with the topography from forest to swamp.
This park is famous for its 400 different species of both migrant and resident birds, as well as the black and white Columbus Monkeys. Other animals found in the park include baboon, elephants, buffalo, giraffes, hippos, leopards, hyenas, zebra, and antelopes.

TARANGIRE NATIONAL PARK
Tarangire National Park gets its name from the river that winds through the length of the reserve. It is only 118km from Arusha and it is famous for its dense wildlife between June and September during the dry period. During this time, wildebeest, buffalo, zebra, eland, elephant, Oryx, and hartebeest migrate from the Masai steppe to the Tarangire River followed by their predators (lions, leopards, etc) all looking for water. The Park is also home to 550 species of birds.
(1.5 hour drive or 30 min flight from Arusha)

LAKE MANYARA NATIONAL PARK
This park is famous for two spectacles; the tree-climbing lions along the branches of Acacia, and the tree-climbing pythons nestling at the base of the Great Rift Valley . Upon passing through the forests and entering the gates, visitors immediately see troops of baboons and blue monkeys. The park covers over 390 sq km and includes more than 400 species of birds, flamingos, pelican, storks, cormorants, and Egyptian geese. There are also huge herds of buffalo, elephant, Impala, giraffe, hippo and smaller animals.
(2 hour drive or ½ hour flight from Arusha)

NGORONGORO CONSERVATION AREA
The park is located 180 km from Arusha, and is the location of the infamous discovery of Homo habilis remains by Dr. Louis Leakey. Aside from these remains, others have been discovered as well, including those of elephants, giant horned sheep, and ostriches. Ngorongoro Crater rises a steep 610 meters above the crater floor and covers an area of about 260 sq km. The Crater is home to over 30,000 animals, of which almost half of them are Zebra and Wildebeest. The predators are mainly lion, hyena, as well as cheetah. The Crater was declared a World Heritage Site in 1979 and the entire conservation area covers more than 8,000 sq km.
(4 hour drive or 1 hour from Arusha; 2 hour drive from Manyara or Tarangire)

SERENGETI NATIONAL PARK
Serengeti means “endless plains” in the Maasai language and the park is the best known wildlife sanctuary in the world. It is home to more than three million large mammals and about 35 species of plains animals can be seen here including the BIG FIVE (elephant, rhino, lion (some 1,500 of them), leopard, and buffalo). In May or early June, huge herds of wildebeest, gazelle, and zebra begin their migration followed by the predator lion, cheetah and wild dogs while vultures circle overhead. Other common species include the hippo, giraffe, eland, impala, baboon, and monkeys. The park is also famous for its 400 species of birds- both migrant and resident.

HERE IS WHY HUNTING DOG SAFARI SHOULD BE YOUR CHOICE FOR SAFARI IN TANZANIA :

EXPERIENCE
Our team has a long history in the tourism industry and specifically safaris. We speak excellent English, and know how to make you feel comfortable and welcome while ensuring that you are able to accomplish everything you came to do and see!

EXPERTISE
We know the regions, the people and what to expect. We are always updated on the latest information about the hotels and restaurants that are available as well as the game reserves. The safaris shown can easily be mixed and matched to create an ideal program of your choice.

CARING
We have a caring team that will offer services to cater to your individual needs. Our drivers and guides have an edge in game sporting and bird watching skills that will impart their knowledge with you.

VALUES
The values that drive us are:
· Efficiency
· Integrity
· Respect
· Dedication
· Compassion
· Fun and Adventure
· Professionalism
· Honesty

CLOTHING
Casual clothing, such as cotton trousers and shirts, are ideal for traveling in Africa . Kindly carry along with you a hat (with brim), insect repellant, sunglasses, sunscreen, and comfortable walking shoes (rain boots, coats when needed).

PHOTOGRAPHY
Because of the magnificent views, it is advised to bring a camera. East Africa electricity is 220-240 volts. You are advised to carry the necessary equipment (adaptors) to transform the voltage to from 110 volts.

COMMUNICATION
Most hotels, lodges, cities, and town centers have internet facilities. Cell phone and fixed line communication is also normally available.

VALUABLES
Clients are advised to take care of all valuables (jewelry, cameras, etc). For expensive items, it is recommended that safety deposit boxes are used when available.

CONSERVATION
You will be visiting a conservation site that we want to preserve for future generations of animals. Therefore, it is important that you listen carefully to the instructions that your guide gives you for both your protection and the wild animals. Never feed the animals and do not litter – never throw waste into rivers, lakes or oceans, or on the reserves. Take care when smoking since the cigarette could potentially cause a fire doing irreparable damage.

OTHER SAFARIS, EXCURSIONS AND PACKAGES
We also offer Eco-tourism safaris. Information is available upon request.

THE SOUTHERN CIRCUIT
Most visitors to Tanzania will fly in via Dar es Salaam , which means “Haven of Peace” reflecting the relaxed and informal atmosphere of the city. The southern parks, which are less frequented, can be reached by a short flight, and provide a sense of African adventure, which are unsurpassed anywhere else on the continent. The principal areas are Selous game reserve, Mikumi, Ruaha and the Udzungwa Mountain National Parks .
